With a combined 140 years experience in the plastic moulding business. We are one of the UK’s market leaders in technical injected plastic moulding solutions, producing plastic components for today’s industries.
We are specialists in complex plastic mouldings from thermoplastic, thermoset, over moulding and insert moulding. Our in-house engineering, design, test and development capabilities at AMS means we can manufacture to the highest technical requirements.
From concept design, prototyping and testing to delivering full-scale production, we manage the complete industrial chain, enabling us to respond quickly to your needs.
AMS Technical Plastics are a ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 accredited company offering a high quality comprehensive plastic injection moulding service – moulding from small batch to large volume production in a wide range of polymers.
We are happy to get involved with simple high volume container type products through to complex moulding with metal inserts, embedded PCB’s and two shot over moulding and everything in-between.
With continued investment in state-of-the art machinery, we service a wide range of sectors including automotive, aerospace, defence, electronic, medical, packaging, security and transport. Our processing machinery ranges from 50 tonnes to 400 tonnes locking pressure supported by robotic unloading systems to ensure the most cost effective moulding operation.
Additionally, through or sister company ADM Precision Tools Ltd we offer a full tooling maintenance and repair support service.
Our experienced team can advise clients on component design and material specification to maximise component performance.
We offer in-house tool design and product design, from our own fully-equipped tool room, enabling us to deliver a comprehensive service from initial design evaluation through to new tool manufacture and on-going tool maintenance and service.
When working across a wide range of industries, we are competent at adapting and changing materials to suit any application and plastic product.
When working with moulded plastic products we like to keep our options open, discussing with our customers to ensure you get the right material for your project. As a standard you can choose from the following materials: Acetal, Ionomers, Polypropylene (Homopolymer and Copolymer), L.L.D.P, Acrylic, P.E.T (Rynite), Stryene: High and Medium Impact, P.P.O, A.B.S, Nylon 6, Low Density Polyethylene, P.V.C, A.S.A, Nylon 66, High Density Polyethylene, S.A.N, Acxetate (C.A.B), Thermoplastic Resin (T.P.R), Thermoplastic Rubber, T.P.X, E.V.A, Polycarbonate, Polyurethane.
Don’t see a material you recognise? Or need some advice based on your application, our technical team will be happy to assist with making your project a reality.
At AMS Technical Plastics our design team work with the latest technology to ensure your project moves from design to production as smoothly as possible.
Our team work with a state-of-the-art design suite allowing us to test and scrutinise every element of the design and product to ensure it fulfils your brief. We utilise a number of design programmes to develop plastic components and tools.
Our primary software, Solidworks, has solid and surface modelling capabilities and enables us to use a number of special design features. Using this software our team are able to produce fully rendered and high resolution images of all plastic parts and component before any production occurs. This all allowing us to take a component part through to a complete tool in the shortest period of time possible, ensuring we meet any deadlines your project may have.
Our proactive and comprehensive professional service has earned a string of blue chip clients throughout the Automotive, Defence, Communications, Electrical and Industrial sectors for clients such as:
Our design team are able to use a huge variety of CAD-CAM software, and use SLS and SLA machines to sculpt models that look and feel like the real thing. All of our machining can use a range of materials from Polypropylene to Thermoplastic Rubber. All of this supplied by a company that is able to offer a high quality comprehensive plastic injection moulding service at ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 standards.
